TROLL HUNTER

Similar to the pseudo documentary/ hand-held cam style of THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT and CLOVERFIELD, TROLL HUNTER is an entertaining and campy offering from Norway. Considering the plethora of vampire, werewolf and zombie movies being released, this little movie about trolls is quite refreshing. It’s a simple story about a lone troll hunter allowing a group of college students to film him at work. The action keeps building as each troll encountered is more menacing than the last. The dialogue is laced with wry Norwegian humor allowing the actors to have fun with the subject matter and the cinematography captures the crisp landscape of the country. But the anti-climactic ending is like a troll in my soup.
